Valor Fire Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : None of the buttons work. I have managed once to see the infra light work by pointing at my smartphone camera, but sadly this is not now appearing. An intermittent fault?
This Valor remote arrived safely and on adding a power source was found to be non transmitting on any button press.
On opening the handset the problem was found immediately. One of the components had a very bad solder joint which was making an intermittent connection, this was resoldered and full functionality was restored.
