BUSH CBAR4 Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : BUSH
Model : CBAR4
Customers Fault Description : HAS NO EFFECT ON THE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IT IS MEANT TO OPERATE, BUT IF THE REMOTE IS LEFT SITTING NEAR OTHER ELE. EQUIPMENT (in my case a digi. box recorder)IT INTERFERED WITH THE REMOTE SIGNAL OPERATING THAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. ONCE THE SOUND BAR REMOTE WAS REMOVED FROM THE ROOM EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL.
This Bush Audio remote arrived safely, upon fitting a battery the remote was found to be permanently transmitting.
When the remote was opened there was come contamination found around the main IC. This was cleaned up which stopped the remote from permanently transmitting but unfortunately the remote was only transmitting intermittently when the buttons were pressed.
On closer inspection it was noticed that the board was slightly bent which was causing micro cracks in the print around the IC. These were re soldered but again the remote was transmitting intermittently.
Unfortunately it looks like the foreign residue and cracks had caused the IC itself to become faulty, as this is not available as a spare it has rendered the remote unrepairable.
