Customer's Fault Description
Remote was dropped on concrete. It came on initially but the buttons to move the rollers would not work.. it no longer switches on and there is something loose inside
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This motor move controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
On opening there was a small rectangular magnet shorting out much of the PCB (see image). This magnet is usually fixed to the inside of the casing so that the remote can be hung on a metal housing but i could not find where it would be fitted. Therefore the magnet was removed altogether. Once retested the control then sprang to life. The customer is to test the remote fully on return as when metal is left flying around obscure issues can be present and we are limited on the testing that we can carry out with this control.
