Customer's Fault Description
On/Off buttons inoperative despite fresh batteries. No light emitting from RC. Dimplex fire working normally by manual use.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on testing was found to have very sluggish button response.

This was due to worn contacts, replacement conductive pads were glued into place which restored full functionality. 

Please note that no light emits from this remote that is visible to the human eye, it is infra red which cannot be seen except through an electronic device such as a digital camera
