SONY Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : SONY
Customers Fault Description : Most, if not all, soft touch buttons are either non-functional or slow at responding / working. The main fault area is around the central region of the remote, namely from the 'SYSTEM MENU/TITLE LIST/GUIDE' row below to the 'REPEAT/PAUSE/STOP' row of buttons. Generally speaking the remote is a very good condition, albeit has collected dust (and perhaps dirt/debris?) over the 15+ years since being originally purchased.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have many non responsive buttons.
On opening the issue was found to be caused by a large mass of sticky liquid contamination over much of the button array and buttons. The contamination was cleaned fully which restored full functionality.
