Jvc Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : Jvc
Customers Fault Description : The remote control is not working
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing (this cannot be replaced as spares are not available). The front case at the top was broken across the facia, this cannot be replaced also as spare cases are not available, this doesn't effect functionality.
The control had signs of a previous opening prior to arrival with us, this was confirmed when the battery terminals were found to be both at the same end.
The IR led was detached from the PCB.
The battery terminals were positioned correctly and a replacement IR led fitted, this restored full functionality.
It is important to understand that these issues are consistent with an opening without knowing how to do it safely, therefore it is possible that the original issue may not have been the remote and the customer may have damaged the remote when trying to open it. i.e. the LED was physically broken from the PCB and the terminals were refitted incorrectly.
