Opacmare Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Opacmare

Customers Fault Description : Batteries go flat, intermittent power light staying on. Buttons work intermittently

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This crane remote arrived safely and on testing was found to have an erratic response with a signal being emitted occasionally without a button being pressed.

On peeling apart the facia to expose the button array it was found that there was a tiny amount of contamination which was cleared up but it is thought that the actual issue was caused by the "non used" button contacts of the array that was being shorted by the sticky glue of the top layer of the facia.  Each of the non used button contacts were masked out using insulating tape.  When retested the remote would only emit a signal when a button was pressed.
