SIT 4 button gas fire Remote Repair Details

Model : 4 button gas fire
Customers Fault Description : Maybe the button not working. (top left as led doesn't flash when pressed on its own) as need to press this button along with another button to start/light the fireplace (the other 3 buttons the led does flsash when pressed). Beleive damage caused by child spilling water.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was held on with tape due to the retaining clip being missing. This cover cannot be replaced as they are not sold as spares.
On testing the top left button was found to be very sluggish in response. All four buttons and the battery cable was replaced which restored full functionality.
The remote was cleaned to remove the brown tape and sticky parts on the case. Then a small less conspicuous piece of electrical tape was fitted to hold the battery cover into place.
