SNAP ON Sun Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : SNAP ON

Model : Sun

Customers Fault Description : NOT WORKING AT ALL

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This remote arrived safely from East Sussex an on inspection the battery cover was missing and the IR cover was detached from the control.  The case was held together by tape and one of the buttons was missing (this cannot be replaced)

When tested the remote was confirmed to be dead.

When opened this was found to be due to a large amount of contamination based corrosion which had cased a few open circuits and also the RED LED was missing.

The print was reworked and the LED replaced which restored full functionality.

The PCB was hot glued into place and the case glued together, it is recommended to still put tape around the control as from experience these remotes get knocked around quite a lot.

It is also recommended to only fit a brand new battery on return as any previous battery inserted may have been drained due to the contamination.
