Treadmill display lights up but nothing happens when I press the buttons on the remote control. It won't start.

HOMCOM A90-224 treadmill remote arrived safely from South Yorkshire and on testing was found to be transmitting on all buttons as per normal operation.  The code being transmitted was tested against a stock code and confirmed to be correct.
