HSL Chair Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : HSL Chair

Customers Fault Description : Hi, this has been back to you before some time ago. The two bottom buttons to lift and drop the bottom part of the chair only work intermittently, and top two buttons to recline and lift the back of the chair are very stiff, and there is a slight delay when they are pressed. My suffers from very bad arthritis in his hands and has very little strength, so would be good if the buttons work easily, and not have to be pressed too hard.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This remote arrived safely and on inspection the bottom 2 buttons were found to be functioning as per normal, the stiffness reported is actually due to the button contacts being thicker due to new conductive pads being fitted last time on the bottom 2 buttons.  These new conductive pads means that the buttons have less "travel" meaning they only need to be pushed in by a millimeter before contact is made as opposed to 3 millimeters without the conductive pads in place.

The top 2 buttons were found to be worn and therefore replacement conductive pads were glued under these buttons this time.  Again this means that the buttons will be extra sensitive and not need to be pushed hard or deep.

There was also some signs of liquid contamination over some of the contacts, the PCB was cleared of all contaminants and the cable was checked without an issue being found.
