Customer's Fault Description
The remote has been less responsive so I changed the batteries to find that they had leaked - cleaned all accessible terminals and replaced batteries to find it worked but within the day it failed to work at all. The Arcam Solo unit is working well and I can operate it using all the buttons of the facia.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Arcam Solo integrated amplifier/DAB/FM/CD remote control arrived safely from Tyne and Wear and on testing was foudn to be dead.
The opened one of the internal terminals had signs of a battery leak and a large amount of liquid acid was found over parts of the PCB. The PCB and button array was cleared of all contaminants as well as the terminal. This resorted full functionality.
