Valor Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : remote failing to switch on or off fire or change any settings, the fire works however it is very awkward for my elderly mother to reach the control buttons on fire. hope you can help.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Valor remote arrived safely from Dundee and on testing was found to be dead. This was found to be due to a faulty oscillator. The oscillator was replaced which restored full functionality.
When packaging this item and re-testing the IC was found to have failed, after talking with the customer it was decided to send a clone instead of a repair.
