Customer's Fault Description
The remote has been slow to respond whilst turning the fire off. Last night, the off button would not work. We had to turn the gas supply off yo turn off the fire. The remote has a rattle.We changed the batteries to no avail.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Gazco Vision 75T Gas Fire remote control arrived safely from Newcastle upon Tyne and on inspection was found to rattle when shook.  The remote appeared to function as normal and respond on each button press.  After a few seconds of turning it off and then on again the error code F46 shows on the screen, this is because it cant receive from the fireplaces receiver, this is normal as the receiver is not with us.

After talking to the customer it was decided to fix the "rattle" which was due to the large metal weight plate breaking loose inside the controller (see image).  This was hot glued firmly back into place.

The customer is to test the remote with the receiver on return and also to investigate the receivers power source as it may be in need of a battery replacement in the heaters receiver box.
