Sun/Snap On Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Sun/Snap On

Customers Fault Description : Intermittently not working

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Brake roller remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to be missing its battery cover (this cannot be replaced as spares are not available).  On testing the functionality was erratic.

When opened one of the terminals had signs of a battery leak (see image) the terminal was cleaned up then insulated to prevent the common short issue.

The battery housing was missing 2 of its retaining pips that hold the battery in the correct position.  This was causing the power to be intermittent.

Hot melt glue was used to create a spacer to resolve the battery issue.  This restored full functionality.

The customer is to obtain a new battery as any that was in this previously may have suffered damage due to the potential termina; short issue
