Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Remote control for a bed arrived safely from Worcester and on inspection was found to have badly damaged battery terminals from an apparent battery leak.  The damaged terminals were replaced and the others re-plated using SCP.  Full functionality was restored.
