Mertik Maxitrol - Controller and Receiver Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Mertik Maxitrol - Controller and Receiver

Customers Fault Description : Having problems with the receiver. Buttons on the remote control work fine, however the receiver doesn't respond when the up and down buttons on the controller are pressed. After playing around with the batteries for a while, I managed to get the receiver working, but it would only respond to an 'up' command - not a 'down' command. Then went to use the controller 20 minutes later and neither 'up' or 'down' would work. Seems to be a problem with the state of the battery tray in the housing unit. Have tried to clean it but think it needs a specialist clean or a new tray.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Remote control and receiver for a gas fire arrived safely from Elford and on testing the remote was found to be transmitting as per normal operation.

The receiver has unfortunately suffered a battery leak, due to this a repair is not possible.  Once the receivers suffer a battery leak they can at any time develop random faults which includes losing a channel and more importantly turning the heater on without intervention.

A google search was carried out and replacement receivers can be found here - https://ebay.us/53nC5Y - Please check with the seller for details.
