Customer's Fault Description
Both remote controls are exhibiting the same fault: when the button is pressed, the LED lights up but the garage door doesn’t open.
I have checked that the DIP switches are in the correct positions for the receiver:
- - 0 0 - 0 0 0 -
The door works fine with my only other remote control.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
These two Garage remote controls (GTX-M27) arrived safely and on testing one had no signal at all and the other was very weak.
This non signal remote was found to have a faulty oscillator, once replaced full functionality was restored.
The second weak signal remote was found to have a bad solder connection on the RF aerial. Once resoldered full functionality was restored.
The foil that was found in the battery compartment was removed, this is very bad practise as it can cause irreparable damage. The terminals were tightened to make a better connection.
