Customer's Fault Description
The remote has three buttons. The red button switches on the light on the fire and works fine. Button 2 is for low heat and button 3 is for high heat. Neither button 1 or 2 works.
I have tried in vain to open the unit so hope you have more success.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Electric fire remote control arrived safely from Bedford and on testing was found to have non functioning buttons.
On opening the contacts for the buttons were heavily contaminated (see image). This was because the conductive pads of the buttons were decomposing. The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads glued under each button.
Full functionality was restored.
