Customer's Fault Description
The remote doesn't work due to battery leak. However,the board and circuit looks fine.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This CD player CDT-17A remote control (SP05B) arrived safely from Warrington and on testing was dead wit ha damaged / detached battery block.
On removing the PCB two filter caps were found to be physically damaged (see image), these were replaced as well as the battery block but the item remained dead. The S9014 transistor was found to be blown. This was replaced which restored functionality.
It was then found that 4 of the buttons were sluggish / non responsive. These buttons were replaced which then restored full functionality.
