ZAP Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : ZAP

Customers Fault Description : 1st Remote has stopped working. Battery has been replaced. 2nd Remote was run over with a forklift. Makes noise but doesn't work.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

These two remote controls arrived safely from the USA and on inspection one had a badly damaged case, this remote cannot be repaired as spare cases are not available.

The other remote was dead with a broken battery cable. The cable was replaced which restored partial functionality. One of the buttons was non responsive, this was due to a tiny corrosion spot causing an open circuit.  The print was reworked which restored full functionality.

It was requested to try to repair the damaged case remote but on inspection the PCB itself is also damaged there is a SMD component that is physically shattered, a replacement was searched for but none could be found.  This item is not repairable.
