Reich GmbH Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Reich GmbH

Customers Fault Description : After replacing the battery in the remote, the 9v battery connector came loose. I have replaced this but found that the film ribbon cable from the front button board will now not stay in its connector on the main board. As a result, the whole remote is dead - no power light, even when I hold the cable in place.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Caravan Motor Mover remote control arrived safely and on testing was dead.

When the PCB was removed it was confirmed that the facia edge connector was detached. On closer inspection the carbon was damaged (see image).  The cable was cut back by 1mm and then the connector re-connected and reinforced using hot glue.

This restore power.  The customer is to test the remote fully on return.
