Wurlitzer Remote Repair Details
This remote arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.
On opening there was a diode that was physically shattered which had blown with such force that it had damaged the print under the diode.
The diode was replaced and the print reworked but the remote remained dead.
After an extensive component test was carried out it was found that the issue was the Main IC which has deemed a repair not possible.
The diode is in place to protect against batteries being inserted incorrectly. With the force that it had blown it is thought that the batteries were possible inserted in the wrong polarity and the diode blew after short circuiting allowing the incorrect voltages to the IC subsequentially popping the IC.
This remote was disposed of as per the sites terms 7th Jan 2025
