Pioneer Amplifier Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Pioneer

Model : Amplifier

Customers Fault Description : Remote stopped working

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Amplifier remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to not transmit an IR signal on any button press.

When opened this was found to be due to corrosion in the print from a battery leak.  The print was reworked which restored full functionality.

A replacement battery cover was fitted as the original was missing its retaining clip.

This remote was returned as it started to not affect the receiver after a few weeks of use.

When testing the remote again it would transmit a garbled signal when the remote was moved (without any button being pressed).  Unfortunately, this was due to the main IC itself breaking down internally and the motion of the remote would make it glitch.

Sadly, this is not a repairable issue, an extensive search was carried out for a replacement IC but none could be found.

The payment was refunded and the remote was returned 27th Dec 2024
