handicare Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : i have two remotes, one is working ok but second one neither buttons work. this has been happening for a while, i did get it temporally to work by pressing both buttons simultaneously and then the button required, now nothing. i have changed batteries and checked they have charge, also cleaned terminals.thank you.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This stairlift remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to be working as per normal, both buttons are required to be pressed for a few seconds to unlock the remotes functionality.

When the remote was reassembled it was found to be temperamental and intermittently respond to its buttons.

It was found that then the remote was open it would work again.  After further testing it was found that the two terminals were loose and not making a proper connection to the PCB. The reason it worked when open is that the PCB was being pressed onto the terminals due to the back not being in place.

The terminal connections were reworked which then restored full functionality. It was tested over a few hours and it would unlock each time the two buttons were pressed as normal.
