Customer's Fault Description
Gifted to me, told remote was fixed by a ‘mate, but not working, cracked it open, can see this ‘mate’ bodged the job. Read up on some of you previous work, can see that you can re lay pcb tracks, hopefully that’s all it needs. Looks like battery leakage in the past has damaged them.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Sony Minidisc Deck remote control arrived safely and on inspection was dismantled prior to arrival with us and work had been carried out to the PCB.
The remote was dead. The bridging wires were found to be connected to the incorrect places. The print was reworked and correctly resoldered. It was then found that the print around the oscillator was also corroded. The oscillator was replaced and the print reworked which restored full functionality.
