Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This CD player controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
On opening there was signs of corrosion around the main IC (probably due to a battery leak) .
The print was reworked and the IC resoldered which did restore partial functionality but sadly the item failed after a short period of time. It appears that when the IC is heated up it will start to work but then fail when it cools down, this unfortunately means that a repair is not possible as replacement ICs are not available as spares.
It may be possible for us to clone certain functions onto a learning remote (we will heat up the IC then copy the code off the remote to put onto another handset) but we are limited to the number of buttons available on the clone. Please contact us on 01514308033 or 07817039435 if this is something that might be of interest, otherwise there is just the return postage charge (or it can be binned with no charge at all)
