Be Modern Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : Be Modern
Customers Fault Description : Remote has stopped working even with new batteries. Occasionally decides to work! Actual fire works properly.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This fireplace controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting as per normal operation.
The control was opened to check for defect and the PCB was found to be warped (see image). It is common for these remotes to warp the PCB which breaks the IC connection points which sadly is encased under resin which makes a repair not possible but it is unknown if this is the cause of an issue as a fault could not be replicated.
The customer is to re-test the remote with the receiver and if it does fail again then test the remote with a camera to see if the remote is transmitting (see out testing video of an example of this test).
If the remote does indeed fail and is confirmed not to be the receiver itself then we do have clone controls available to purchase at £20 plus postage, please contact us for more details.
