Customers Fault Description : Remote control for a wall mounted electric heater. Was left on top of heater which melted back cover. It contnued to work however until batteries needed changing. Now device does not work at all but can be dissassembled easily.
This fireplace remote arrived safely, upon opening the package the handset was found to be apart. The back was badly burnt as well as the battery cover.
A scan over the PCB revealed no immediate damage and so a power source was added. The remote was found to be working on all button presses.
A component check was carried out but no problem could be found. It is possible that the PCB was not situated when the customer was attempting to use it due to the badly burnt back.
As no fault could be found no repair could be carried out, we cannot repair any cosmetic damage as replacement cases are not available as spares.
No charge is required except the return postage costs.
