Customer's Fault Description
Left hand button which reduces the flame on gas fire was getting harder to operate fire and now it is not working. I took it apart (had to unstick metal front to get to screws)and found white deposits around left hand button but no way of getting button apart without braking it.
This Fireplace control arrived safely and on initial inspection the cover was loose.
When tested it was confirmed that one of the buttons was inoperable.
The button did have signs of contamination on its casing, the button was removed and given an alcohol bath for an hour to loosen any contaminants then when dried was soaked in Switch contact cleaner to further clean the contacts. This returned the control to full functionality.
