Customer's Fault Description
The remote control is not working at all, none of the buttons work. I have tried operating the buttons in front of a digital camera and I can see the red IR LED flashing when I operate each of the buttons, so I know the remote isn't completely dead. I have tried changing the batteries incase the signal was not strong enough but this still hasn't helped. I have 2 projectors which are ex display projectors bought as seen the remote for the other identical projector works on both projectors ruling out a problem with the projector itself. So I know the fault lies with the remote itself, as they are ex display and so relatively new I would think it is a component failure.
This Ricoh PJWX4152N Projector controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting an infra red signal on every button press.
As a signal was present it was concluded that the timing oscillator was at fault, a replacement was fitted and the remote returned to the customer for testing.
