Customer's Fault Description
9v battery in handset discharges even when the remote is turned off so we have been removing the battery after each use. Unfortunately this has caused the battery clip to become damaged and one of the wires has detached. Other than this the remote currently works properly.
This caravan mover control arrived safely and on inspection the battery terminal was confirmed to be broken, a replacement was fitted which restored functionality.
The issue with draining batteries could not be found but it is likely to have been caused by 2 factors, the first being the cable itself could have been shorting and also the glue used to hold the cables in place was over both terminal points on the PCB which may have acted as a resistor again shorting out the battery.
