Customer's Fault Description
Remote did seem to work erratically needing batteries changed very often however within a day it would send errant signals to the unit to turn it off or on and wouldn't respond to any buttons pressed until it's batteries had been changed. The frequency of battery changes that could get it to work somewhat predictably went up and up until it wouldn't respond at all.
This Soundbase controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting without any button press.
On opening hte issue was found to be due to cracked solder joints around the IC. The IC was resoldered and cleaned and normal functionality was restored.
