The remote won’t work but the clock is still working

 

These 2 wall timer controls arrived safely, on inspection both were missing their battery covers and the GX-IR03 had a large piece of the casing missing (cosmetic damage cannot be repaired and doesn't effect functionality) 

The GX-IR03 was found to be transmitting a signal without any button being pressed.  This was due to contamination over the board, the PCB and rubber keypad was given an alcohol bath which restored all functionlity.

The other smaller control was found to not be transmitting at all.  This was due to a faulty IR LED.  This was replaced and again full functionality was restored.
