Customer's Fault Description
Because of rapid drain on battery we decided to connected the battery only when activating garage door - we have used this approach for the past 4 years <br />
Consequently, battery leads subject to wear and tear particularly at circuit board soldering point.
<br />Faults - <br /><br />1. resolve issue re rapid battery drain<br /><br />2. reconnected normal length battery leads to circuit board
This garage door controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cable was detached from the PCB. The solder points where the cable attaches to the PCB had a this "short" wire which would cause the batteries to drain.
The solder points were cleaned up and a new cable attached this restored full functionality and no excess current is being drawn when the batteries are inserted.
