This bathroom tv controller arrived safely and on inspection there was liquid inside the battery compartment and the remote was dead.

The battery cover was broken and would not stay in situe, a replacement was fitted but is not a perfect fit.

On opening the control, there was a mass of liquid all over the PCB nad button array.  Strangely this didnt seem to be water and was an oil like substance, this was shorting out most of the PCB and buttons.

The device was cleaned using alcohol which restored functionality and replacement button caps were fitted under 3 buttons which had started to corrode due to the contamination.  This restored full functionality.

Please note that this item is not waterproof and great care must be taken to prevent future damage.
