Customer's Fault Description
I dropped the remote control. The on button is not working on the front nor the other "Main on" button inside the back flap. I cannot therefore switch on the receiver with the remote. When the receiver is on, none of the remote buttons work, for example the volume, input change on the front and sound dynamics ones inside the back flap.

 

This Denon remote arrived safely and the facia door and IR led cover was detached and on testing was confirmed to have some buttons not functioning.  This is normal functionality as the device selector switches do turn off / on certain function / buttons dependent on their position.

The problem was that one of the switch sliders was not seated correctly on the switch shaft (probably due to it being dropped). This meant that even when sliding the switch to choose a different device it would not "electronically" switch.

The switch slider was refitted along with the led cover and facia door.  Now when a device is selected it switches between devices as per normal.
