Buttons sticking especially volume, there may be others but unable to test them

 

This bang & Olufsen controller arrived safely and on adding a power source was confirmed to be transmitting without any button press.

When opened this was found to be due to a large amount of contamination over the button pads (see image).

The board and buttons were given an alcohol clean which restored full functionality.
