Remote wont turn fire up -but will turn it down ! It does light up as if working just doesn't seem to connect for turning flame up .

 

This fireplace control and corresponding receiver arrived safely and on testing  was confirmed not to respond on the up channel.

This was due to a faulty 40.5 oscillator, this was replaced and restored functionality.
