Dimplex fire rc01-008 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : It is a two button remote controller. It now does not turn fire off and is not always turning it on. We have tried a new set of batteries twice.
This Dimplex coal fire controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have non responsive buttons.
When opened the issue was found to be due to a large sticky contamination over the button contacts and pads (see image). These were given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants which restored full functionality.
