Customer's Fault Description
Remote control for fan is not working, when placing batteries in remote the infa red is always showing a red light when pressing the buttons. Nothing is working.


This fan control arrived safely and on inspection the battery terminals were showing signs of a leakage (corroded terminals).

When a power source was added the red led would illuminate and stay on permanently and no infra red signal was being transmitted.

When opened there was no internal indications of further battery acid damage and all testable components read within their working parameters.  It was then concluded that the problem lay with the main IC which sadly is not available as a spare.  This most likely popped when the batteries leaked which can cause a massive power surge / short.
