This caravan remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing one of its retaining clips meaning the cover has to be held in place using tape or a band.

The battery cable itself was badly damaged and frayed.  The battery cable was replaced.  Also the IC had started to "creep" from its socket, this was set firmly back into position and full normal functionality was restored.

Please note the provided battery was disposed of and it is recommended to only use such batteries as Duracell or EverReady in these kind of remotes.
