‘turn up heat’ control working but has weak signal but ‘turn down heat’ control has little or no signal to receiver unit. same issue as last year - this was sent this for repair in september 2018.

 

This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a faulty channel, the channel fault would randomly "switch" i.e. one min it would be a faulty up channel and then it would change to a faulty down channel.

This fault would disappear whenever a meter was touched to any component making fault diagnosis very difficult.

Eventually after a few weeks of testing from cold it was found that a capacitor was erroneous.  This was replaced and then the item retested over a week and sturdy functionality was found.
