This Bush television remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.

The battery terminals had signs of a leakage / corrosion.  This was cleaned up but the issue remained.  The control was opened and there was a crack in the solder joint to one of the terminals.  This was resoldered and full functionality was restored.
