Customer's Fault Description
Thermostat no longer gives the correct reading on the display; it displays a hotter temperature than the room actually is eg stuck at 30c or Two dashes where the digits should be = therefore the combi thinks that the desired heating temperature has been reached and won’t turn the central heating on.
Remote / Display works fine other than that.
This heater controller arrived safely and on testing was indeed stuck at 35 degrees.
On opening a visual check found that there was some corrosion over a few of the pins on the main IC.
This was cleaned up which restored full functionality. The series of images below shows the temperature change over a period of a few minutes after being artificially cooled with freezer spray.
