Customers Fault Description : very erratic, some times works for a sec then don't

 

This Valor fireplace remote control arrived safely from the United States and on adding a power source was found to be erratic in functionality after a short while.

This was found to be due to a problematic diode which was replaced then the control was tested over a four day period with no issues being detected.
