Customer's Fault Description
The remote got wet. Dried out and when replacing the battery the green light flashes, but then stops, and none of the control buttons work. Seems to have shorted somewhere

 

This robokaddy controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be transmitting without a button being pressed.

This was due to contamination within the facia array, this was cleaned up and restored full functionality.
