Customer's Fault Description
Will not power on.. However when left next to a radiator to warm up, the remote then works perfectly for around 10 to 15 minutes.
Thinking that it might be a dry joint, I re-soldered the main connections on the board, but this still did not fix the issue. Once warmed by soldering the joints, the remote worked again for around 10-15 minutes.
I have still been able to use it by warming it next to or on top of the radiator but now wanting it to work permanently.
This Samsung controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed dead. On opening the issue was found to be due to 2 problems, the first was a faulty oscillator, this was replaced which restored functionality to all buttons except the volume down. This button was faulty due to a break in the print, this was reworked which restored full functionality to all buttons.
