on/off switch is faulty, need to move a few times for unit to turn on. Have tried contact cleaner but wears off.

This Truma SE remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to respond every time from its power slide.

This was due to a broken PCB mounting pin making the board loose inside the control.  The board was glued back into place which restored normal functionality.
