This Hofmann remote control arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing and the LED was not illuminating on any button.  Also some of the buttons were non responsive.

When opened there was sings of a battery leakage (see image), this was cleaned up and an insulating sleeve was fitted over one of the terminals to prevent shorting.  The LED was replaced and also the button pads cleaned.

The PCB was also hot glued firmly into place to prevent it from moving around due to a broken mounting pin.

Full functionality was restored.
